About Pushkar & Ajmer.

Pushkar is a small town on the outskirts of Ajmer about 6 miles. Located in the foothills of Aravalli Range, in central Rajasthan. As per the ancient history written in Padma Purana, the city has been stablished by Lord Brahma around the Pushkar Lake which was created by fall of three petals from the lotus flower on which Lord Brahma sites.

Pushkar is considered one of the most important pilgrimage center for Hindus. Apart from the Pushkar Lake, there are several things to see in city like Brahma Temple, Pushkar Camel Fair, Varaha Temple, Savitri Temple, Rangji Temple, Gayatri Temple, Man Mahal and Puskar Bazaar. 

On the other side of Taragarh Hill city of Ajmer is situated. It is one of the most important holiest city for Muslims. Ajmer was founded on barren hills in the 7th Century A.D by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan naming it Ajaymeru. 

The Afghans took over reins from Prithviraj Chauhan the last of the Chauhans. Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti is one of the major tourist attractions in Ajmer. Other sightseeing places in Ajmer are the Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpara, Taragarh fort, Akbari Fort and Museum, Maqbara Shaikh Husain and Anasagar Lake.
