About Gulbarga.

The small town of Gulbarga is situated in the northern part of Karnataka State. GULBARGA was known as ‘KALBURAGI’ in former days which means stony land in Kannada. Presently the district is once again known as ‘KALABURAGI’.

Gulbarga, the largest district in Karnataka, is a land where the past melds with the present. This historically rich region of the Deccan has been part of a number of kingdoms. Recorded history of this district dates back to the 6th Century A.D.
