About Chitrakoot.

Chitrakoot located on the banks of the Mandakini River in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Known as the 'Place of Many Wonders', Chitrakoot nestles in the northern Vindhya range of mountains. It's a perfect blend of religious, historical, cultural, and archaeological importance.

Chitrakoot has had its own identity and this very name since times immemorial. The first known mention of the place is in the Valmiki Ramayan, which is believed to be the first ever Mahakavya composed by the first ever poet. It is in the deep forests of Chitrakoot that Lord Ram and Sita with his brother Laxman spent eleven of their fourteen years of exile and met Hermit Atri and Sati Anasuya.

This lends the area a spiritual aroma which permeates its entire atmosphere and makes it spiritually alive to this day.

There is also an uncountable number of temples, both ancient and new that makes it an important religious centre for Hindus. The main tourist attraction of Chitrakoot are Kamadgiri Temple, Ram Ghat, Sati Anusuya Ashram, Gupt Godavari Caves, Sati Anusuya Temple, Hanuman Dhara, Bharat Milap Temple, Janaki Kund, Sphatik Shila, Valmiki Ashram, Bharat Koop, Matha Gajendranath Shiv Temple and Ganesh Bagh.
