About Ranchi.

Ranchi, the city of water falls, is the capital of Jharkhand state, northeastern India. It is located on the Chota Nagpur Plateau along the Subarnarekha River. It was the summer capital before the state carved out of Bihar. Ranchi derived its name from ‘Archi’, meaning bamboo forest. The town is entirely covered with red soil. Ranchi is surrounded by forests rich in a variety of trees and wild animals. The city has major rail and road connections and is the centre of the region’s agricultural, cotton, and tea trade. Silk production and the manufacture of shellac and heavy machine tools are the city’s major industries.

The beautiful waterfalls — Hundru falls, Panch Gagh falls, Jonha falls, Hirni falls and Ursi Falls. Apart from that there is other tourist destinations like Jagannath Temple, The Birsa Zoological Park, Rock Garden, Ragore Hill, Ranchi Lake, Angrabadi Temple Complex, Pahari Mandir, The Sun Temple, Ram Dayal Munda Park, Kanke Dam, Nakshatra Van and Deer Park.
