About Hubli.

Hubli, officially known as Hubballi, is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. The word Hubli was derived from 'Hubballi' which stands for "flowering creeper" in the Kannada language. The history of this place goes back several centuries when it was called Rayara Hubli.

It flourished under the Vijayanagara Empire and came to be known as a major commercial centre. Now days Hubli is often referred to as the twin city of Karnataka with Dharwad. 

Hubli as being the administrative capital of the Dharwad district. Hubli is the commercial hub of Northern Karnataka and also a developing industrial, automobile and educational hub. Hubli is blessed with so many picturesque sites and monuments such as Siddharoodha Math, Unkal Lake, Chandramouleshwara Temple, Glass House Garden, Nrupatunga Hill, Navagraha Teertha, Banashankari Temple, Sayed Fateh Shah Dargha, ISKCON Temple, Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle, St. Joseph Church, Vittal Temple, Eshwar Temple, Gayatri Tapovan, Bund Garden and Bannigida Maruti Temple.
