Trivandrum is the capital city of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located at South Western tip of India along with Arabian Sea. City is also refer by its historical name Thiruvananthapuram, literally split into "Tiru", "Anantha", "puram" means "The town of Lord Anantha" (Lord Vishnu). The area was in control of Ays till the beginning of the 10th century A.D. after the fall of Ays, the Venad came into power. The modern history begins with Marthanda Varma, who is generally regarded as the Father of modern Travancore (1729-1758 AD) shifted the capital of his Kingdom in 1745 A.D.

Thiruvananthapuram was known as a great center of intellectual and artistic activities in those days.
