About Ludhiana 

Ludhiana, centrally located city of the Indian state of Punjab situated on the banks of the Sutlej river. It was just a small village called Meer Hota before the city was founded in the time of Lodhi dynasty which ruled in Delhi from 1451-1526 A.D. The name was originally "Lodhi-ana", meaning "Lodhi town", which has since shifted to the present form of Ludhiana. 

Ludhiana, the site of a great battle in the First Sikh War (1845) is now Punjab's most populated metropolitan city. Every year in the first week of February the Rural Olympics take place in Ludhiana which attract tourist around the world. 

The main tourist attraction of Ludhiana are Gurudwara Mehdiana Sahib, Fort Lodhi, Pavilion Mall, Rakh Bagh Park, Punjab’s Agricultural University Museum, Nehru Rose Garden, Guru Nanak Stadium, Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, Gurudwara Shri Manji Sahib, Deer Park, Phillaur Fort, Bilwanwali Masjid and Punjab Rural Heritage Museum.
