About Jamshedpur.

Jamshedpur also known as “The Steel City” is the largest city in the Indian state of Jharkhand, situated at the junction of the Subarnarekha and Kharkai river. It was a tiny tribal settlement surrounded by untouched jungles when Jamsetji Tata decided to set up India’s first steel factory (TATA Steel) in 1911.

The city is sometimes called Tatanagar, named after the industrialist Jamsetji Nasarwanji Tata. Jamshedpur is completely maintained by Tata Steel for the most part. Tata Steel is responsible for the infrastructure as well the public services offered in most parts of the city.

It is now the third most-populous city and largest urban agglomeration in the state and is a major rail and road junction. Industries include India’s principal ironworks and steelworks, a vehicle-assembly plant, and factories manufacturing agricultural implements, enameled ironware, and locomotive engine parts.

The main tourist attraction of Trivandrum are The Dimna lake, Jubilee Park & Lake, Tata Steel Zoological Park, Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, Hudco Lake, Russi Modi Centre, Bhuvaneshwari Temple, Jayanti Sarovar, Sir Dorabji Tata Park, Golpahari Temple, Tribal Culture Centre, Sakchi Masjid and St Maryês Church.
