About Kanyakumari.

Kanyakumari is situated on the southernmost tip of Indian state in the southern Tamil Nadu. It is located on the meeting point of three major water bodies-Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. This pilgrim center derives its name from the Virgin goddess Kanya Kumari, to whom the temple is dedicated. 

Due to major sea route Kanyakumari was under the control of many great rulers of south India like the Cholas, the Cheras, the Pandyas and the Nayaks. During the British Raj, Kanyakumari was bestowed the title of Cape Comorin. Kannyakumari is famous for its beach and the spectacular sunrises and sunsets, especially on full moon days.

The main tourist attraction of Kanyakumari are Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Bhagavathy Amman Temple, Gandhi Mandapam, Kanyakumari Beach, Thanumalayan Temple, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Our Lady Of Ransom Church, Vattakottai Fort, Mathur Aqueduct, Thirparappu Falls, Wax Museum, Tsunami Monument, St. Xavier Church, Sunset View Point, Olakaruvi Falls, Sanguthurai Beach, Lord Subramanya Temple, Kanyakumari View Tower, Chitharal Jain Monuments and Adikesava Perumal Temple.
