The beautiful city of Indore is located on the Western region of Madhya Pradesh on the banks of the River Khan and Sarawati. The city of Indore was discovered by Rao Nandlal Chaudhary in mid-1710, named it as ‘Indrapur’ after Lord Indra, the deity of Indreshwar temple. As the story goes, Malharro Holkar of the Holkar clan, received Indore as part of his booty in the conquest of Malwa in 1733.

During the Maratha regime, the city was renamed ‘Indur’. It was later Anglicized to ‘Indore’ during the British era. Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar, with her keen interest in education and planning, built this city. The most eminent attractions include Rajwada, Lal Bagh Palace, Khajrana Temple, Sarafa Bazaar, Indore Museum, White Church, Kanch Jain Mandir, Pipliyapala Regional Park, Royal Chhatris, Gandhi Hall, Hanuwantiya and Royal Museum.

Bhopal is split by a pair of lakes, towards the North you have the old city, a fascinating area of mosques, serpentine alleys, chowks, milling crowds, exotic havelis and crowded bazaars. In the south of the two lakes is the new Bhopal. 

Modern, with wide roads, upmarket shopping complexes, and plush hotels and restaurants nestled comfortably in the Arera and Shamla Hills, which overlook the lakes and the old city beyond. The central district is known as New Market. Both Bhopals enamour you in their own way and vie to bring out the child within you.
